Soooooo weird! Not 5 minutes ago I was listening to "Strange Fruit" and "Solitude!" I love "lush sad-voice, course & closed." Even without the first line, I would have known about whom you were speaking. The first time I heard "Strange Fruit" I knew it would haunt me forever. I too was ashamed to be white at that moment. I am REALLY feeling you in this piece.

The title makes the piece. You did not mess up. In fact, if you have just discovered this form of writing, I would say you have a talent for it. Try not to use filler words for syllable count. In such a concise form, you have to make the most of every single word. Keep writing and I think you will produce some amazing work. Great job!
