I am not a professional writer nor do I aspire to be one. If an opportunity to publish my work came along I would, of course, take it, but it’s not something I’m actively seeking. I’m simply looking for other creative people to exchange ideas with and draw inspiration from.

“Painting with words” is the most appropriate way I can think of to describe my style of writing. While many feel the surest way of crafting a unique literary identity is to “write what you know,” I prefer to write what I don’t know. Most of what I write is completely unfounded in reality – I am much more interested in the unknown and imaginary, the dreamlike and surreal. That being said, I do not ascribe any explicit “meaning” to anything I write. Who cares what I…

You and I, we are defeated cryptograms - our cipher of skin, sinew, and synapse decoded by enemy enigma machines. We can't even trust the air with our secrets anymore, and even a room without walls carries an echo. Derelict voices, formless and low, swirl through streets swathed in white noise, the gossamer remnants of disused passions dissolving in the rain and seeping into the soil. We allow our dreams to escape us, to drift away into the ether and mingle with the dust of burned-out stars w...

Bliss is an unnatural sentiment. Notice it or not, this disassociative enchantment wields the permanence of a broken clock's time. Remove or be removed. Disbelievers disbelieve. We're lucky enough just to live from summer until winter, locked up like so many secrets in the throat of one who barely breathes. We used to drink water. We used our beds for dreaming. At this auspicious hour, the treasonous still refuse to betray themselves and even the most charitable offer nothing. The vultures ca...

Wow, this is really quite impressive. From what I can tell, you are certainly a talented storyteller. While reading this I was able to put faces to names and vividly imagine the settings you describe. Your similes and metaphors are excellent, and you have a definite knack for setting a scene with the use of creative descriptive language. Phrases like "He has his head in his hands, large frame folded on top of itself like a wax idol having wilted in the sunlight" are abundant, and it's those k...
Poetry / Afrikakorps
This piece has an almost dreamlike quality; a great blend of visceral yet fantastic imagery that definitely took me to the time and place you are describing. Writing from the perspective of a (dead) German SS soldier is a fascinating premise and definitely caught my attention. Though painstakingly detailed and descriptive, your piece still leaves quite a bit for the reader to imagine. I really loved the lines "I imagine the world at the Rapture" and "The Panzer oils staining white gravel. Thi...

Simply put, this is awesome. The imagery is complex, beautiful, and extremely provocative, and the somewhat archaic phrasing and deliberate wording gives the entire piece an air of haunting solemnity. Portraying such a destructive event in such a dreamlike way is extremely powerful when properly executed, and in that you have succeeded. I had a small problem with the phrase "apathetic empathy" in the second stanza, which seems to me a contradiction in terms, but perhaps this was intentional o...
