It's funny what people remember. Some remember more good than bad, some remember just the opposite. Even so, your perception is your reality and everyone's perception is different. Your poem flows beautifully. I must be honest, I was a little lost at times-unsure of some of the meaning. If that was your intent at certain places, then that's great. I know that some poets choose to leave certain words/phrases open to interpretation for the reader. I thought your word choices were lovely.
It is well written, however, i think the second paragraph is way too long. It needs to be more concise. Don't give them the whole story. You almost have a complete synopsis in the second paragraph. Leave them hanging, wanting more.
Just as an apple a day protects your physical health, a drink a day protects your mental health. Amen. For me, however, I need more than one drink to chase them away. For me, a drink a day keeps the demons at bay......?
Very deep. I wonder if you could further explore and explain what it is exactly that plagues you. I get the general sense of it, but would like to see deeper detail into your thoughts.
Well, I hate to tell you this, but I liked it. It was honest and clean without being 'whiny' or 'rambling'. You have a strong voice. You were able to get across what most writers feel. I have done the same thing with my writing. I have stuffed it away or started over because I didn't know where to begin.
