Butterfly birthed: pain A pheonix, reborn again Woman, God's Opus Butterfly birthed: pain To wake the morning Is like calling to the wind Who comes when she wants Of pain you are born In struggle made beautiful Cocoons, butterflies Our likemindedness Or what would appear to bond Is our rise from pain Cancerous, the leach Not what's taken physically But rather from heart Confusion, struggle These things make us who we are And we recreate A pheonix, reborn again Stand at the summit Look for opp...

How many times does a raindrop fall? Strike the earth or sea, swept back up like a spirit in rapture and then come crashing down again. I've heard the answer but I don't know. how many times is it swallowed up by a man or beast? only to know that some day it will be back in the sky ready to fall again but that those things will already be in the ground feeding the worms and the trees, who also beg for a drink. I've heard the answer but I don't know. How many times does each living heart beat ...

I've heard it said that life's a game and to an extent it's true enough I suppose. But if life is a game then let me propose that life is a game of wars. I like to see games though out, leaving little to chance, but enough luck to know that opposition exists. If life is a game then it'd be nothing like the game they call life, where it's as easily rewarded to simply make it to the end and die in mediocrity as it is to achieve something worth achieving. Life would be nothing like monopoly, whe...

Commuter. One cell in a system of intricate, intertwining interstates. Point a to Point b. We're pushing ourselves deeper into apathetic mediocrity, can't you see? I change lanes, looking to pass. I change lanes, looking to surpass. I change lanes, looking to express My need to get out of this routine, this asphalt rut that leads me From point a to point b, in frustration leading me always back to mediocrity. But each time I change lanes, someone hits the brakes As if they'd meant to say "why...

"In legend I am a sadistic, slashing, swashbuckling despot who waged war in the guise of sport." Said Ty Cobb. And legends always outlive the truth in our heads and our hearts, say I. I don't think it changes a thing... I want to be like Ty Cobb, because man was he ever good. I want to slide into second with the grace of a God and do it so many times that people's heads will spin with Deja Vu for years to come; I want people to know that I'm the best. And each time I do it I want take off my ...

This piece stuck out to me a great deal, I love the fact that it seems more like a simple sigh and one thought in how it flows than a series of complex thoughts. It's concise and it leaves someone with a great image. For some reason I went simon and garfunkle on it and the girl in my mind was a teen in the 60's. odd enough, i suppose but that's where it went for me. I did really enjoy this one.

This piece caught my eye simply because it is similiar to the life I live. I was born in Venezuela and have lived most of my life in the US. I like it alot and I know alot of what that feels like, I guess I would even go as far as to say that your protagonist is a genuine representation of alot of my own sentiments [being a 23 y/o boy]. It's so true that we're driven by our passions a young men. But hopefully it's our hearts that lead us until the mind takes over. My father said that God has ...
Holy crap. I could probably write for months on the idea of the variation of shadows in creation. That is a beautiful idea. I like Gabriel's character alot, I like the humanity in the non-humanity. I find that to be a fun idea to work with. Do you plan on using any type of biblical or historical framework or do you plan on just planting the main characters and allowing it to develop from the point a of creation to the point b of apocalypse?
I like this piece alot. It has a great feel and reminds me of Thomas Hardy's "channel firing." The imagery is good. I actually read it twice to get a better feel for it before reviewing. I find it odd though that you give man such a distasteful look...like ravaging, when sometimes it seems that although we can many times be vicious about death, there's almost an eerie silence inside about sorrow. In general I did really like it, I am curious. Is it a general statement or does it come from a m...
