I am 26 years old and live in Kansas City, Kansas.  I recently finished serving 7 years in the Correctional system for the accidental death of a friend.  I spent nearly my entire incarceration studying and writing.  I have an 8 year old daughter whom I adore and who inspires me daily.  I am currently a full time student, seeking my bachelor’s in Journalism.

Great use of symbolism while still remaining rounded in what you are talking about. I enjoyed this. I'm not much for grammatical help, but the flow itself of this narrative kept me interested.
