I am a 34 year old writer from Montgomery County, Maryland. I write sci-fi/fantasy fiction. Eventually I would like to branch off into other genres, horror fiction, in particular. I spent several years living in New Orleans and while there I began work on my first novel, did an internship with the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Society, and volunteered as a disaster relief worker with the American Red Cross during storm season. I am currently looking for an agent to help me publish my novel. In the meantime, I am working on some short stories, and I have started work on a second novel.

Lord Wynter stood quietly, in the anonymous shadows of the vast room. He gazed at the young man who lay expiring, on the luxurious bed, in the center of the room. The young man’s name was Jonah Tralee. Sweat and filth drenched the lavish satin sheets of Jonah’s bed. His skin was bluing. His grey eyes went dull. In his desperate state, Jonah could feel the presence of Lord Wynter. He managed an urgent whisper. “I know you are here. I have prayed for you to come, to show me mercy. Why do you m...

Short Story / Stupid
I think you did a good job of capturing the pain of being different. The awkwardness and anxiety the character experienced made me feel for him. Thanks for sharing this.
I did this backwards as for some reason I found the next chapter of your story first. But I love this concept. It is very adventurous. I love the family connection, especially the interaction between Lacey and her mother. I think all mothers and daughters can relate to feelings of growing up and letting go, etc. I love the feminine power of the story as well; and I have to laugh at the Reese's thing as that is my favorite form of chocolate candy. Most of all, I find myself cheering for Lacey....
I really enjoyed this. I like the details you give; you seem like a very visual person, as though you have an artist's eye. You show a lot of imagination and great character development. Lacey is a very lovable character. I was touched by the way she took Desiree under her wing. I also love Zebby. Best wishes to you and thanks for sharing this.
Sci Fi & Fantasy / Kerwyn God-SLayer Prologue
Very imaginative. I realize this is mostly editorial in the way it is written right now, but I think you have something good here once you develop it and really tell the story. Best wishes to you and thanks for sharing.
Magical and thoughtful. I can appreciate the way you illustrate the process, as we grow further into adulthood, of coming to understand our parents and grandparents. I also appreciate the wisdom in the messages in your writing. For example: "I asked her then to explain the fact that I can’t fly even though I think all the time. I mean, sometimes I think so hard and so furiously that my head aches and I can’t sleep. She explained that what I was experiencing cannot properly be called “thinking...
