“What exactly is Reecamon anyway?” This came from Kat who was staring at the large purple creature sitting on her haunches near a tree. The chimaerette was sorting through the assortment of knives and swords she’d taken from the latest band of brigands who’d attempted to rob them. “Dunno.” Terah shrugged. She was eating a whole Fook she had killed and roasted over their small campfire. Occasionally she sprinkled salt or hot sauce on the stringy bird meat. “...But she’s close to a chimaera an...

That time of year that we all behold Gold and rose leaves, many and few Among a myraid of colors Boughs shiver amid cooling winds Fading birdsong still linger See life in twilight As the sunset fades in the autmnal sky By and by a violet night descends With the death of the day Sealing up the light Heralding Winter's coming

Do you hear the cry as the pack goes by? The hengewulves hunting across the hills Hear their howling song, keen and clear Upon the air of a crisp moonlit eve Across dew dusted fields Wavering wails joyous and free Bounding on the flanks of the fleeing deer Now the Howling Hills are lonely and still The hengewulves have left them behind For fear of destruction by mankind

Three weasels are the wind That prowl the chilly night Across a rocky vale that touches the sky Assaulting the unaware Who fall victim to their sickle claws Cutting like blades of icy air One to slice A second to mend And a third to score again

“ Lo there, girlie. Wanna frolic with us?” The furry drunk clapped a mitt onto the waifish girl’s shoulder. Something happened in that moment that sent a sense of unease squirming through the hearts of everyone present. The very air went still and stale. Terah felt a queer shudder squeeze down her spine as if someone stepped on her grave. She found herself blinking rapidly as a bead of cool sweat dripped from her brow. “W-what….?” Rei had gone still. Instead of the quiet, inverted, and painf...

I haven't been here for a while so I'll need to read any chapters I've missed. Thanks for the recaps. It makes so much eaasier to keep up and move along. Anyway, I think you have clearly established your own distinct writing style. It is noticeably different from other fantasy styles and it is refreshing whiff of new talent. I honestly think you are ready to start publishing your work. I haven't spotted any grammar or sentence errors that trip up the flow of the writing. Everything I am readi...
Hmmm. Hello, first time read for me. a setting in the army and focusing on its soilders certainly sets a story full of action and adventure. Your sentence structure and fragmenting your paragraphs are a start. I think you've got a ways to go before seeing an agent but I belive you've the talent to get your work there witha bit more practice. For example, when describing the drill sergant, condense your paragraph for a smoother read: Drill Sergeant Malloy said nothing; he just paced up and dow...
Wow. One of those slightly dark humored, bitter ironic slice of life kinda stories. And your guidelines about readers was a nice touch. It makes me reviewing your work alot easier. Average guy wants to get rid of some slightly unnatractive moles. Decides to cut them off. Meets up witha tall, intimidating, and slightly screwy girl. They form a relationship. not quite romance, not quite friendship, but not quite strangers. He discovers he's got cancer. he wallows within himself. fiona connects ...
