I’m not really going for publishing status, though I’ve always had the dream to write and take photos for National Geographic. I think more I use writing to run with concepts that strike me in an instant. It’s quite enjoyable!
A voice. I had a voice once. It fluttered and graced, it commanded and informed, it intoxicated and enticed. But no. Now, as I open my jowls to call out, all that is heard is a whispery clattering of air tumbling past a cut out voice box. A terribly pitiful noise really. I grew up in an area of the country that crawls with evangelistic types; thumping their bibles as though creating a beat for your catholic guilt to mambo to. There was one sect of these evangelistic types that was more a brew...
The scuffing sound at my feet told me i was finally at the unpolished section of my wearhouse. The light had faded quite a few doors back, where i spend most of my time and am most familiar with. I loved decorating that area back there, I cleaned all the rooms, hung new pictures up atleast once every 3 months or so, and just had a new lightbulb installed...one of those 4 year deals...in the room with the door marked "college". I liked the hidden story that lies beneath this one. At least to me it seems like there is an older woman that exists in a time of religious turmoil and perhaps even war - forcing her to fight, but still she wants to love and carress as her more natural disposition. That was great! I think that kids wil really get a kick out of it. I enjoyed the different sounds t-rex made. Instead of just Rooar- i can picture a teacher reading that and being able to entertain the kids with so many different sounds. The story had a great moral and was on key with elementary age mentality. It was very enjoyable! The only thing I would watch out for is, were you intending to rhyme or not? It seemed there was a couple of places where rhyme was attempted, but it wasnt consis...
Sounds intriguing! I would love to read some more of it. It seems to be one of those endings that really leaves you guessing and curious...which can be pleasantly frustrating!
Wow, I really liked this! I enjoyed the cryptic, almost manic feel to it, as if the narrator/creator of the poem was perhaps a forensic investigator and had seen all these different types of deaths and was now a little crazy about them. It seems to me that it was obviously refering to deaths, perhaps of different types like a suicide or murder in bed, a car accident, and perhaps even a hanging. I think i felt most giddy when I discovered this line's meaning - where the blue oh so blue was in ...
