There’s not a lot you need to know about me. My name’s Kirstie although I have many nicknames, Including Dayle. Yes I’m aware that guy’s usually go by that name.
I’ve been writing stories since as long as I could spell enough words, but got serious about it at around fourteen and yes, my first few hundred sucked. I’m now, slightly, better though.

The Guy By Kirstie Melvin. We've all got him. That one guy that no matter what you do, you just can't seem to get over him. You can be fine, go months, years even not seeing him then an old friend'll bring him up. Or worse, you actually bump into him somewhere and are reminded exactly how amazing he really is. Now this guy can be anyone from an old flame to that guy at the back of your English class that you just never had the guts to talk to. He can be the highschool quaterback or the captin...

It all started one monday afternoon while I was waiting to pick my little brother up from school. There I was innocently minding my own business when some blonde baffoon bumped me, causing his coffee to spill all over my nice new WHITE top (that I had borrowed from my best friend without her knowledge). I was in trouble. And things were about to get a whole lot worse. Chapter one. There's nothing more dangerous than a boy with charm. "What the hell?! Will you look where you're going moron?!" ...

New York, New York. By Kirstie Melvin. "Ten bucks says you can't do it." I cocked an eyebrow. "Strike that. Fifty, fifty bucks." She nodded for effect. "Harleigh, do you even have fifty bucks?" "I will soon." She just grinned. We were at the train station and I was meant to be catching the 10:20 back to Arkansas. My best friend had other ideas. You see, Harleigh happened to have an older cousin. A very, very attractive older cousin who I happened to also be pretty good friends with. "Whatever...

I remember it like it was yesterday. The knock on the door. The police man's kind voice. My mother's muffled crys as my father held her tight. Though, I don't really suppose that's something you forget in a hurry is it? I was the youngest of five, and the only boy. Had just turned ten wen it happened. The house was never the same afterwards. Dad buried himself in is work and Mom, well she just liked to pretend it never happened. Not denial exactly, Let's call it blind hope. I grew up in the t...

Have you ever seen the movie 'When Harry met Sally'? If you haven't I'll give you a brief outline. The basic concept of the film revolves around the question 'Can men and women just be friends?' The main argument against this is men and woman cannot be friends because sex always gets in the way. Sex complicates everything. Even when you're not having it, it complicates things because, apparently, men and woman can never just be friends without one of them, eventually, being attracted to the o...

Im not sure this is publishable but its certainly amusing. I also love the authors note.
This piece had me gripped from the first page it pulls the reader in as you wonder who our character is and why he or she is in a police station in the first place. The jump on page two is confusing, but only seems to add to the charm of this piece. Who is this man? What has he to do with the person on page one? Is this him? It creates many questions. Plus I challenge any woman not to fall in lust with the idea of his flight buddy. Keep up the good work.
This is a very well worded piece, it clearly gets across your feelings about love and I'm sure many people will relate to it. Keep up the good work.
If I'm honest I didn't really get this piece, what is so wrong with eating a sandwich? It was amusing in parts which is why i did give it a five, but I think a little more background would help the piece. I realise this probably isn't meant to make much sense.
This is a really amusing piece which made me smile from start to finish. I particularly like the detail of what 'Once upon a time' means to a child. Your description of how this changes over the years is also very funny and I'm sure many readers had visions of the teeth falling etc. Keep up the good work.
