Red is not something that you can feel- not like the soft wool of a winter scarf or the auburn ringlets of your mother’s hair. You can never taste the red that melts like cherry ice cream in your mouth, or burns, instead, with the exotic melange of chilli. Red does not permeate like fine wines on late summer evenings, or flow steadily trickling through your veins. But you can see red, if you look closely, within the fleeting glance of a butterfly’s wing, the rose bud hidden beneath a myriad o...

Imagine yourself shaking hands with The Principle Rudiments of Anatomy- how many fingers can you break? Textbook formulae for learning “how to cope with fits”: Laugh until you spit. Hit something hard. Then slit your wrists for bliss. Try that one out on the family if you dare. You’ve copied down the notes, read the lies between the lines, Answered questions of your demise- all that is left Is to appreciate the art of voodoo. Haiku/Senryu / Twilight Opera
I prefer Twilight Opera- its seems to capture the particular style of romance better.
That's so poignant. I love how the concept of scent expands to reflect people and personalities, and is inextricably connected with memory. Yes, it is an imprint that seeps through the pores as if the smell is part of your biology as DNA is. The scents that are used as a disguise the decay and aging processes have become her. Her outward personality was so forceful and vibrant that it survives beyond the physical, and is left after she is gone. Somehow the contrast in smells also seems to ref...
Quotes / A summation.
I'm not sure if life is ever perfect, as such. You my be blissfully happy for a moment, but that is only because in that moment of euphoria everything else in the world has been forgotten. There are far too many threads in life for each and everyone of them to fall into place- there is no smoothness, but the tangles are sometimes fun to unpick.
