Lost Soul By Erika Draper How can this be, that something so critical can happen in the blink of an eye. Something so full and whimsical can end with no gladness in sight. Goodbye he says. My heart stops beating. Goodbye I cry. Time rolls on and he is a new person, new goals new dreams and new girls. Time rolls on and I am now a depressed and hopeful soul. With no future insight, I can hardly get myself moving. I cry and I cry till my eyes run dry and I force myself to sleep. I wake in the mo...

Gazing up at the endlessness I feel almost free Though bound at my feet By a little thing we call gravity. Doesn't stop me can't you see I Rome and I travel To the lands unraveled By battles and saddles Belonging to those who mattered. Swimming in the pools of the wealthy kind I find myself eating gray carcass hide. Laughing in glimmer and shinning in eyes The money keeps flowing even when I cry. Unzipping the flap to bare a mount, Noone can see me or even hear me. The peaks unfold and founta...

Our photograph holds no phrase, more of a lacuna. A mirror image of a time of our love. We are ineffable, nothing can explain what we have. In you, I am inert. Infatuated by your gaze. Astray in your eyes, we are alone. Pieced together by only our love for eachother. Gliding on time I smile at you, we kiss passionatly holding our hearts. The colors meshed make a powerful shine, blinded by the growth of our ore, people drive themselves mad wanting more of there own. Lacking in ability to be si...

I enjoyed very much reading this. I really like how right away I felt like I was having a face to face conversation with this character. The only thing I think could maybe be different was all the references to all the celebrities who have man bags. That part, to me, did roll on a bit long. Other then that, I enjoyed this piece. I would like to read more. It made me laugh how you made the reference to ladies shying away when they see the black strap. People can be so judgmental! Good job.
This is a real good piece. Very honest and true. I love the comparisons that are made. Especially the last paragraphs, watching ultimate fighter winners is joy when the richies joy are smelly loud grandkids who don't like you anyways. Ha very fun to read.
Ha ha I liked this very much. It would be a great piece in a book of poems for children. I think we can all relate to this poem for when I read this, I think of learning how to tie my shoes. I never understood the "bunny" method. I learned eventually, but to this day.. I still dont understand it. Thanks for this piece, it was entertaining.
All of your work is really good, but there is some message behind it all. Some are very clear when others are so hard to receive. Most of the poems I read of yours make me wonder what was going on in your life at that time or what you were thinking at that moment to write it down. Some of it is dark and others are pleasant so I think is it shows a good transition of your life.
