Hi! My name is Amanda, but I go by my nickname, Ana, on the internet. I’m a fifteen-year-old high school sophomore from Rhode Island who loves to read and write. I usually write fanfiction, but I’ve recently started to write poetry. Some of my other hobbies are: travelling, cooking, tennis, gardening, and listening to music; I also have a love of animals. I get my inspiration from almost everywhere, including: life, quotes, music, books, movies, art, and nature. I’m always on the look-out for ways to improve my writing, so I value every piece of constructive criticism or even regular feedback that I can get! I only hope that I can share my experience (though limited) with others and help them to grow and improve as well.

A beautiful pure white gown, Glistening in the heavenly light flowing from the windows; Delicate flowers hanging from the pews and petals in the aisle The couple standing at the alter, holding hands as they recite their vows Watched by a sea of well-dressed guests holding tissues and dabbing at their eyes, Which follow the ceremony with barely contained emotion- It is a moment filled with tearful smiles and high expectations- A long awaited scene from a little girl’s dream That could shatter ...

The hallway stretches on Forever, it seems Each word spoken Echoes back as screams Lights shine brightly overhead, Reflected on the floor There is no trace of darkness here- Except that under the locked door It feels as though I am trapped In an interrogation room The darkness that was around me, wrapped Is quickly fading away There is nowhere to hide- The luminous lights won’t allow it And I have no choice but to abide By the rules they’ve set They can see right through me- Right into my ver...

Referred to as the “Land of Prosperity” or the “Realm of the Sun,” the country of Aeirea is no ordinary place, for it exists not here in our world but in the parallel world of Elendylvia. Located between the nations of Hamira and Mandaln, and roughly the size of India, Aeirea is home to both rolling green countryside and scorching desert. There is only one main source of water to be found throughout the whole country, the Lazarene River, which most of the cities of the nation border. Elendylv...

This was just beautiful yet it was also a bit sad at the same time...that's really the only way to describe it. I completely loved the feelings I got from your poem. There was so much description...like the way you "pick a flower in it's dewed innocence." I also liked the way you referenced yourself to a fairy. Overall, it kind of gave me a sense of there being darkness even when there is light. And the ending...what can I say? "The light of my last life…the rays my last touch…The dark forest...
Simple, truthful, and self-explanatory. I definitely like this quote. It's not too wordy, yet it's long enough to express the complete idea. And it's definitely true that what we do today reflects on how people look at or remember us in the future, and after it is done, there is no way to change the past. Very nice job.
Wow, I actually really liked this. The word choice is very powerful, as is the overall idea. I think I understand what you were trying to convey, but as I'm still working on finding the meanings behind works of literature (I'm still in high school, after all), I'm not completely certain I've got it all of the way, and the ideas behind this piece seem very advanced and meaningful (not that that's bad; that's actually why I like it). I understand what you're saying about the degrees of guilt an...
Very truthful and also very thought provoking. The flow is nice as well. It's definitely true that often, time seems to either fly by very fast or move unbelievably slow. And if time goes by slow when we wait for something to grow or come to life, then you have to wonder if that means that dying is supposed to usually happen quickly... I love how such a simple poem, in essence, could leave readers pondering for hours. Very wonderful job, especially in giving people something to think about by...
