They met for what seemed like the first time at the airport, but neither was aware that they had met once before; over seventeen years ago. The man was in from New York going to meet his son in Wyoming. Its hard to believe that he had found out about him less than a month before. He received a letter from an organization, Bringing Families Together (BFT), detailing to him who the boy was and how it was that they knew who the father happened to be. She had always known about the boy. Of cours...

Close your eyes and imagine with me. I am your best friend and have been so for as long as either of us can remember. We have grown and are still in the process of growing up together in a small town or rather a large town; it is up to you to edit the story so that it fits you. Now imagine me starting to draw into myself, afraid of the world, only confident and happy around you. Eventually I build up the courage to tell you that, well…I’m gay. What do you do now? Are you afraid to be near me ...

I stand in firm negation of the resolution; being that the United States would be justified in pursuing military options against Iran. To begin, several important definitions need to be addressed. According to the Encarta World English Dictionary: Would: is used in stating what will or suggesting what might happen under the circumstances described in the conditional clause Justified is described as: serving as an acceptable reason or excuse for something and giving someone an acceptable reaso...

I Am Me How does Peter Dickinson’s novel, The Ropemaker, relate to the literary tradition of Transcendentalism? Transcendentalism can be described as the things in life that make it meaningful. To determine the ultimate reality of God, one must go beyond, or transcend from, everyday mortal existence and experience. Present in the work of transcendental activists such as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau is the idea that one must resist conformity. A person must mold himself and his ...

Criticism / Trench Warfare
I love how you display naive behavior...This story seems so realistic...War is a tough subject for me as well...As I read this I felt on the verge of tears...No offense, but when have you ever heard a story where a soldier had enough time to stare at a soldier and more time still to think, pick up his rifle, and hit his enemy on the head? Just a thought...I love how "you" come to realize that we are all humans...We get into huge skirmishes just because we have different culture and belief...W...
Sci Fi & Fantasy / Common Sense
“THESE are the times that try men’s souls." This isn't an original quote is it? I don't think so...I have seen it manifest in many peices...of course you may not have read it before...pure coincidence...I love your use of patriotism and nationalism...your use of militarism is clear as well and what is shown to "try men's souls" Thank you...this is very enlightening and heartening...wonderful...The beginning could be a little clearer...Thanks...
Journal, Diary, & Blogging / Journey Of A Man Living With HIV
Wow...this is a touching story...I am gay...so I understand some of the things that your friend had to go through...Its great to see a classic American story brought forth in this manner...the story that I refer to is falling off of the correct path...then getting oneself into bad positions...then enlightenment occurs and one can go back to living a normal life...It is heartening to know that someone out there is supportive of homosexuality...and supportive of those who want to get their live...
