Marijuana is one of the most commonly used illicit substances in the United States. However, the history of the drug is ripe with controversy ranging from its use to its illegalization. To truly understand the situation regarding marijuana it is only proper to look at the root of the controversy surrounding it. Once the 1930s rolled around, and the prohibition of alcohol had failed tremendously, there was a feeling of failure in most prohibitionists’ minds. One of the jaded prohibitionists, ...

This was a fairly well written and entertaining piece, however, there were a few mistakes that revision would correct. First off, when quoting people use " rather than '. ' is for quoting something appears earlier in the text or a quote. Nevertheless, some of the wording seemed choppy or forced, which will get taken care of in revision. Good job though and keep it up.
After reading this I have to say this was one of the most entertaining reads that I have experience on Urbis. Your flow partnered with the clarity of your sentences--even though you did use a varied vernacular--really made this enjoyable throughout. I didn't get to read the version in present tense, but this is fine the way it is and I wouldn't screw with it. Nice work.
Well, it is clear The Path Less Traveled or whatever it is titled has certainly influenced this. In fact, it reminds of how blues musicians used to cover each other's songs. They would take the basic concept and theme of the song and then apply their own creative interpretation. Nice work.
