Love is a thing only flowers know Love is the thing that melts the snow Let it caress, let it take hold To love it takes a heart so bold Now that you’re gone, I have no guide Now that you’re gone, my poems have died Your words have gone, turned to lies As you sail beyond the setting skies How will I ever get over you How will I ever make it though This trek of love, loss, and lust It all has gone and turned to dust Under a dying willow tree Laying there, next to me A single rose, dried and do...

I heard a distant songbird sing On a night the moon was full, and big It’s song was sad, but I felt better I wasn’t alone, as I read the letter On the night the moon could banish fear The brightest night, of all the year It spoke of truth, I already knew Of long lost love, of me and you It’s for the best, we both decided But inside I just could no hide it You promised me that you’d be there You swore to me that you really cared But now of course, you’ve left and gone You should’ve sealed thos...

You're leaving, again To a world that I don't know You tried to make it nice for me But that just couldn't be You see, I still love you But I know feeling isn't mutual I know that it scares you To think that it could be true How could I love you? How... Could I love you? You wonder, frightened You distance yourself because of it Keep me at arms length But don't look like it! I tried to give you what you wanted I tried to just forget It never happened! It won't again! I tried, and tried But it...

I actually really enjoyed this piece of poetry. The meaning was portrayed clearly and efficiently with just the right amount of imagery. If there was something to address at all, it’s really small and may just be a strange sort of fixation in my mind… Either way, to me it seem like the last night “the secrets that lie there.” Doesn’t fit at all with the other final lines in each of the other stanzas. I believe I’m wrong, it seems to fit when I look, however it sounds strange to me whenever I ...
This poem I felt was a particularly good read. I loved the description of the decrepit look of the aged “beast”, I think that your word choice was well thought out. At the beginning there I saw you use the words “Windswept”, “Wizened”, “Whispering”, ect. And I think that that kind of alliteration would be a nice consistency to the poem, should you wish to take the time to try to go through it all and do a bit of renovation work. It certainly doesn’t need it, but It might be a nice polish to t...
Interesting. The title I disagree with a little, but the piece itself is a pretty decent read. "It responds better than me too." That line made me falter a bit, I might consider tweaking it just a bit if I were you. It may be the way I'm reading it, but it's just a suggestion. Over all, a pretty decent poem.
I enjoyed this poem. I think it holds enough inner meaning to be a very nice piece of work. It's simple, short, but relate able to many, especially those who sit and watch a storm. The one thing I might consider revising however, is... I feel that it would add to the poem if on the last line of each stanza you make an allusion to the feelings and emotions portrayed to the first two lines of each stanza. Such as, "In the dark that is pain." and, "Rain falls and hides the tears." As oppose to t...
