I am 36 years old. I have been writing poetry and plays since I was 10 years old. I have tried to always be honest and true to my inner feelings.I read all I can about Jack Kerouac.
I keep an open mind on all subjects. Its the only way to get better at what we do and Love

We are for ever children in the street For the night brings such sadness As tears roll down my cheek Oh midnight moon sing your song to me 12 o clock strikes a new hour, a new day, a new life Discared the old Bring back a time of joy The good old days Let's drink tea and chat While the children laugh and play Unlock the doors to a new begining The sun is out today Shake hands and kiss each other Make love to the sound of summer rain Hold tight onto your dreams Will we ever be one nation One ...

With in the trench Out of sight Hearts pounding hard The smell of fear A crack of thunder A flash of light One man prays Another man cries And then it begins A blast on a whistle Then another and another And over the top they go Just boys being men One trips, he falls Shot between the eyes The sodden earth where he fell, becomes his grave But he is not alone For next to him lies his brothers in arms And the boys they shall remain

You have painted a great picture here. I can see this being made into a comic book. To make a person see your poem like this takes some thing special. Enddings can always be changed. I would not like to tell you how to re write your poem. Its down to you to have faith in your writing. If your happy then good, if not keep working till you are. Put the poem away for a while then go back to it. I find this helps me every time.
Let me first say I have been in the same place as you,I will not lie to you. Your poem has moved me to tears. You tell it from a place deep with in your heart. I dont think you have much to worry about in your writing,If you keep writing work on this scale. I truly feel this is the best poem I have read in a long time. Well done.Stay strong you have so much more to give us. And I look forward to more of your work.
