I am a very new and untrusting writer who has only shown a few people her material. I’m trying to get a better opinion of how good or bad I truly am.

Hush. Calm your mind. Open your thoughts. Listen to me. Why? Do not continue. Let me speak. Listen to me. Please. I can help. Let me, love. Listen to me. Words. Stop speaking, friend. It's my turn Listen to me. Shush. Hold your tongue. Hear my voice. Listen to me. Mind. My opinion matters. Heed my words. Listen to me. Hush. Calm your mind. Open your thoughts. Listen to me.

Romance / Anne -- Prelude

Anne-Marie smoothed her skirts, sat down on the beautiful chaise longue in the corner of the room and waited. The dauphin’s message sounded so urgent, yet he was making her wait. This little detail worried her greatly, but she kept a nonchalant look on her face. Looking submissive, taught to all noble-bred girls at a young age, had become a very helpful habit to Anne over the years. Palace guards watched her carefully, some out of duty, others out of lust. She was a pretty girl, but she was n...

Poetry / The Bird

Love is like a bird. It flys all over. You cannot control it. It will tame itself. If you ignore it, It will ignore you. If you befriend it, It will go where it needs to. Respect it, And it will know where to land. Harass it, And it will harass you. If you set it free, It will be the sweetest gift of all. Cage it out of fear, And you will never receive its gift.

Fly with me. Through the darkness. Into the light. Guide me through. Give me wings. So I can fly. Don't let go. They are not strong. Don't let me fall. Help me soar. On my own. When you're not there. But stay with me. Love me, sweet. My guardian angel.

I have a little secret That I can never tell. I told one time before And that is why I fell. Will you laugh? Will you anger? Will you shed a tear? Will you glow? Will you smile? Will you hold me dear? If I tell my secret We’ll never be the same. If I tell my secret I’ll glow or hide in shame. It’s too risky. It’s too big. I just can’t go first. It’s too lovely. It’s too sweet. I think my head will burst. I have a little secret That I can never tell. I told one time before And that is why I fe...

Thanks. I don't think I'm ever going to enter the work force! By the way, I especially love the joke about George W. Bush's brain cell count!! And as a Yank, I can tell you: the extra 1.78 arms helps. Just kidding!! I think you should exaggerate what your co-workers do at work. Maybe that will scare them out of talking to you about the weather and (British) football and whatever else they blab on and on about.
Quotes / sink or swim
This made me chuckle!! It's always funny to point out the obvious to the oblivious! And hey, there's nothing like laughter! Keep up the good work!
Quotes / Body as metaphor
This is a very good question. It makes me really think about death in a way that doesn't freak me out. That is a very good quality of this quote and I have nothing to criticize. Good job!

Quotes / Crossroads
The beginning seems to be a little rough. Not the first sentence, but the next two. They just seem a bit choppy when compared to the rest of the quote. But otherwise, it is a great quote!
