I’m Matt, I’m 18, and obviously I’m a writer.  Other things I do…I box and competitivly run (800m-5km).  Apart from English, I love physics, math, and studying World Civ.  I’m addicted to sex, alcohol, books by Kurt Vonnegut, and limericks.  I live in the wonderful state of Kentucky, known for an old man that sells chicken and for really expensive horses.  Enjoy my random ass stuff I post, and I hope I’m not too critical.

Short Story / Nostalgia's Scourge

Chapter 2: Nostalgia’s Scourge It’s mid-January and I find myself fighting insomnia hard. I hope this goddamned pill does the job. Tired of this over dramatized high school love, tired of my chaotically eclectic fantasies, tired of that damned self-righteous Bush too, I’m so tired I can’t get any sleep. About those fantasies: one night I find myself kissing my pillows, the next, I’m fighting my shadows. Lover, fighter, gun owning liberal-I’m a walking paradox. I think I’ll take a few more of ...

His family gathered round to hear the sound of something he had to say, “Now I leave, to heaven I conceive, because I am to die today.” Perry was old, as pure as gold, but his life was at an expected end. He paid his debts, fed his pets, and comforted his very best friend. He closed his eyes, said his goodbyes, and laid down to his last rest. They mourned some, drank good rum, and remembered his bequest. Meanwhile in peace, Perry deceased, came to a bit of a…well Problem to figure, of so many...

The world was at its end, No borders left to defend. What bombs could break, break they did. And my love for that Eskimo, I never hid. In a nuclear holocaust, in the year twenty fifty, I lost my wife, a wife ever so clever and nifty. It seemed I was but one in a world of none. Not even my dog sweet sparky for simple fun. I traveled day and night; I was looking for life. I wanted to find a companion, maybe a wife. I think I may have had a lot of Antarctic rum, When I stumbled upon my sweet Hun...

Milly was a church girl of sorts. She dated all the boys in sports. They liked her beauty, said she's a cutie, and they loved to take off her shorts.

There was an lady, Sha Nee Nee, who loved to drink my martinis. And when she was drunk I'd turn on some funk, and she'd dance in her bikini.

This is one of my favorite poems I've found on this whole website. If anything on this website deserves a ten , in my opinion, it's this piece.

The tone in this piece is amazing...I'll pick out a few of my favorite lines: "was like all of my coffee you drank without replacing, “The Best Part of Waking Up.â Only for me, it wasn’t Folgers that was in my cup, it was in yours." The Sarcasm of this next line, "Warmth and wonderment would flow through me each month as I would pluck eviction notices from our front door..." and finally, "Thank you for showing me how a 26-year-old adult can turn into a 5-year-old child when reality comes knoc...
Short Story / Surf For Your Life
"the ledge a bed of rocks and driftwood sleeps to the sound of the meandering tide." That's a kind of confusing line. "Seagulls sing their morning sons" I think you mean songs*. Jason Biggs I was often called, but I call myself a helpless wanderer. "My name is Jason Biggs, but.." might sound a little better. "that my whole life seems to be at a stop sigh." (sign) "charge through with adequate force. But not adequate enough." Adequate in itself means enough. Your language sometimes seems force...
