My name is Megan Solari and I love writing fantasy. Specifically, I love to take the traditional aspects of fantasy and put into it aspects of today’s society that are taboo and try to make it believable and, above all, likable.

Short Story / Daemin
Version 1
4 Reviews   4 Comments
Daemin dropped onto his back with an audible thud and grinned when Tsorril winced. “You’re going to break your back doing that,” Tsorril admonished, not looking up from the blade he was polishing. Daemin knew that the other elf was watching him in the reflection on the sword’s flawless face, however. “So? Will you take care of me when I’m crippled?” Daemin struck an exaggeratedly pathetic face for Tsorril’s enjoyment. “Will you stop smiling so much when you’re crippled?” “Probably not,” Daemi...

He could feel himself starting to slow down; he was getting tired. Of course, it was his own fault he was in this situation to begin with. Tsorril had made the mistake of praising his own skill to a classmate, and the instructor had overheard his boasting. “All right then,” he had declared. “If you’re so good, you should be able to beat everyone here.” The instructor had meant everyone. There were seventeen of his peers in the Arial, a school for the young warriors of the noble clans. Tsorril...

There is a pair of characters that have been rolling around in my head for a while, though they don't have any stories of their own and they don't even have names. I'm kind of falling in love with the pair, but I fear it may just be a part of my eccentricity. I'll always write about them privately, probably, but I'd like to know if anyone else would like to read about them or their world. They are essentially Drow, or dark elves, though all I'm keeping is the coloration of black skin and ligh...

Short Story / Distractions
Your character seems kind of contradictory. He (it seems) hates people, hates the things people do, hates the things that make people just that: people. Yet, it feels like he wants to impress people by writing a book, but he's not going to write a book that, in itself, would make people impressive. So, he's the kind of guy that hates filler. He doesn't want filler in his life and he doesn't want filler in other people's lives. Filler makes people boring. That leads me to this: Your character ...
Short Story / The Raven And The Road
Oooh, very creepy. I liked it, it kind of reminded me of something Poe would write without all the wordiness, making it less bulky and more reader-friendly. The imagery was wonderful, a very dark and Gothic painting for the mind, especially all of symbolism that ties back into Hell(the ravens, the desert, the endless storm). The only question I have is, why exactly is there a deer? I understand the ravens, they're the harbingers of bad luck and ill omen. But why a deer? Can deer go to Hell or...
