I always thought when people grew up that they would be a grown up; sadly no.

Death is near; he calls my name in the screams of dying men. They echo through the blood soaked ground and escape in the chill of the night. I will greet him, death; with a passionate heart and a prayer on my lips. I am too young to die, but are not life and death a mere reflection in God’s eye.

I live in the past but look to the future and some how I lose myself in the present. I forget to live, I forget to love, and then I just forget. Stop. Think. And then just smile and chuckle, for there is more to life then one person may ever surmise. We just need to be reminded every once and a while…………

I have a golden lab or more likely part lab/part mongrel but nonetheless a puppy. He’s lying under my bed a bit wet after a long bath doing what he does best – wreaking havoc. Duke’s chewing, defecating, pestering, and generally being an unholy menace to creatures big and small is what he does best. Its not like I haven’t been trying to be a good owner to my puppy pest but he insist on doing as he pleases come rain or shine, scolding or swatting, or for that matter the doggie prison. No sir,...
