Play the Mandolin For Me Grandpa It was different than the hospitals in Germany. They were full of people running around in White Coats over camouflage shouting out acronyms. This was a New York City Hospital. People get a bit of pride when they say that in front of whatever they do. For instance... This is a New York City Pizza Joint, this is a New York City Police Cruiser, this is a New York City Hospital.... Like putting New York City in front of something said you were tougher, it was har...

When One Writes a Poem about Poetry I was trying to write a poem the other day, and... I kept fumbling the words on the paper. Dropping words for rhymes schemes, dropping lines for hip-hop poet scenes and at the end of it all -- I just wasn't "droppin'" anything for me I think maybe I once swore to myself I wouldn't write a poem about writing... Yeah I did, I promised I wouldn't write a poem about writing, and about the Yankees, and about every single woman I meet... yet I'm finding I'm const...

You get a little closer on the "5" train and if you keep your eyes averted long enough, you'll see nestled attaché cases going North, away from Brooklyn, just past Fulton Street as everybody's feet are so crowded, so close. So close we are, yet we're a million miles away from one another. She's there, not 1/2 the size of my own foot away. We're not going to talk. They tell me a book is more of a love affair than the 2 hour one night stand that is your favorite movie. Sure, the memories are great, but at the end of it all, it was only two hours invested and two hours gone and no serious adventure of middle thoughts in between train rides to and from work…. but it's a good memory. That one exciting wave, on a day full of flat surf. I wanted to turn her pages slowly, and carefully so as not to tear away the small fragile fragments that held her thoughts ...

It’s Thursday and I’ve grown accustom to having you in my bed….. accustom that is, and I often wonder what kind of customs we’re gonna create between one another….over the life of this thing we’ve mutual ingested Like for instance, our birthdays… on our birthdays are we gonna take ferry’s across the Long Island sound and write one another poems about ferry’s and that if the wind would just pick up a little bit, I’d get to see you quicker just a second sooner, and it’d be a second well spent b...

I really enjoyed the free form of it..in fact, I've not seen a poem like this ever...so it was quite refreshing to see something new.... I actually enjoyed the first two stanzas... but the third I saw to be a little, "all over" the place... the stream of contiousness style was actually well placed.... but still it didn't bring me back to the beginning of what you started... Tell me why you don't write like a civil war soldier, or why you don't have the grace of a ballerina.... it it'd serve y...
