I like how this sounds bittersweet - the idea that you quit it prematurely suggests that while you did it too soon, the fact that you quit was good, or would have been at a late enough date. I think it would have flowed better with a different word in place of 'premature,' but I'm not sure what word. Maybe 'early,'? That could just be me. Something like, 'too soon,' but with one word.

I really liked this. One thing I notice, though, maybe it would be better to have it as 'paintings' instead of 'painting'? So it would be more encompassing? But that's just me. Nice work.
