Hello-
I’m an upstate New York native.
I’ve always enjoyed reading and writing; poetry, in particular.
Several of my most revered writers include: John Irving, Norton Juster, Natalie Angier, David Sedaris, Ernest Holmes, Charles Buckowski and, of course, Maya Angelou.
I’ve enjoyed moderate success; having been recently published in a poetry anthology.
Through this forum, I hope to improve my writing.
All constructive criticism is entirely welcome.
Very sincerely,
Tammy :-)

for Billy * Incendiary ammunition arms the archer's bow; sparking passion's consummation- languished, in the cold. Random loosed and happenstance- a tour de force, to feel; Cupid's arrow slays a heart and finds Achilles' heel.

for Billy * Doubt and sadness often spar with hope's eternal spring; spawning faith, through prayer's gate, on love's ascendant wing. Inside out - to no avail and still, at love's behest; lying down, in dreams, again- an uninvited guest. Unrequited, cast aside, a heart no longer sings of joy-unfettered, bare and breathless, free and on the wing. Laying to rest, without protest, a wayward, broken heart; a soul takes flight, through blinding light- now ready to depart. * by TDJanke

for P.E.T.A. Amidst the shadow past the meadow, slick and sparkling new; a babe awaits her quarried mother, anxious, cold and blue. Gone for good, as fate would have it- never to appear; Mother's angel mourns her loss, in Heaven's hallowed tears. * by TDJanke 7/08

Joker's closed the door and stacked the deck- this time, to win; determined and no longer bound to Queen's incessant whim. Deck is shuffled, Tens abound, to rally 'round the King; odds are now, that, still, somehow his heart will fail to sing. Saddened Jack, the bower, now- usurped by chosen brother; defers to Wiser Hands, again- afraid to love another. Crazy Eights, left to skate, with hearts upon their sleeves; discard, again, with tearful yen, the Ones, destined to leave. * by TDJanke 6/08

Tender mercies court the spark, in Heaven's azure sky; where justice tempers meted wrath, and boundless love resides. Beloved Lord, behold your glory, with our eyes, from here; that we receive Amazing Grace, with faith, to conquer fear. by TDJanke 12/08

I hate to give less than favorable reviews. After all, poetry has such an aesthetic appeal; and less than favorable, is in the eye of the beholder. That being said, here goes: I'm confused, by the seemingly random references and associations. ("In rhapsodies overt upon well being") ("No duty,-or words,-could weigh Such a price between native seas Judging this scale at midstream") I'm looking for a common thread. However, the opening verse is priceless: ("Love is a masterpiece Warming every ro...
liquid lunch! I liked this! Your images of Paris' blank stare and lack of grey matter, are as telling as any in the supermarket tabloids. ("Alien babies are HOT!") As a "drabble", this piece whets the gallows humor appetite. A collection of these would certainly bed 'er down. Thanks-a-million, for the comic relief! :-) -T.
