Yes, we have all been there. Good topic, easy to read, good flow. A couple of the sentences may be run-on's and should be divided into two sentences each. Other than that, it gave me a chuckle!

I love the ending, I never saw it coming! Very good story, flowed nicely, easy to read. There's only a couple of sentence structure items I would address, being: The June air is humid, and presses close to his skin like an anxious lover I would say "The humid June air pressed close to...." and The pain ends, so he gets back on his feet "He gets back on his feet when the pain subsides" Great job!
