"Seven," I asnwered. He laughed. His laugh was coarse, like a metal brush rasping agains iron. He looked at me, hi expression amused. "Why seven?" I didn't know. It was the first number had popped into my mind. It has a certain symbolism to it. The seven deadly sins the seven rings of Hell, all very fitting for the deeds at hand. Seven had Satan's ring to it. "I am glad I saved you, you amuse me. You could have said one, you know. Three like with the genie. But no. Yo...

Bobby G. thought that the bowl he was wearing on his shoulders felt uncomfortable, but he had gotten used to it. The bowl was not heavy built but it had been installed somehow wrong. If he could see the bowl from the outside, I am sure he would be surprised. The outside cortex didn’t create images of the world, it was quite plain. It looked like a metal bowl used in cream whipping or in a very modern fruit setting. Well, it was more of a grey, non-transparent fishbowl than a kitchen sup...

Chris and Robert are sitting in the waiting lounge, watching others board the plane. Robert is drinking coffee from a cardboard cup with a plastic lid. Robert seems to be in his own world, gazing out of the huge windows. Chris tries to enjoy they’re last moments before going back home. CHRIS: How long is the flight gonna take? ROBERT: About 10 and a half hours, with the connection flight. We're flying trough London. CHRIS: (suggesting tone) Ten hours, huh? I think we can come up with 'somethi...

Scene 3. Toby’s Hotel room A room similar to the one in the beginning, a queen-size bed and a night stand next to it. A poster of an old fashioned map is hanging on the wall over the bed. Clothes on the floor and on a chair and two people lying in bed, with the sheets all twisted around them. Toby MacCallaghan, 18 and a nameless local girl, 18 are lying naked under the sheets. The sun is illuminating the room brightly through the transparent curtains. Toby wakes up, and like Chris and Dorian ...

I like the bluntness of it. How things just are, without further complications, even though the individuals are quite obviously linked. But the feeling of individual perspectives remains. How everyone responds to being alone that night has no correlation to the person they missed, which is very honest and comes out powerfully. Like Hannah beginning to shout is a response to the situation, though actually not having sex or meeting that guy has no relevance. It is fear that comes over. And that...

For such beautiful flow of words, the title dulls it down a bit, but it's necessary 'cause the poem itself doesn't reveal too much about itself. A line or two give the reader a heads up on whether we're dealing with love or war, history or emotion. Needles to say, I was kinda torn between these two interpretations, but on the other hand I was able to intepret as I saw fit. In the end, that's what delivers best; art guiding more than teaching. So in that sense, I feel it's a very strong piece....
