8 days away. The failure with the snakes did not prohibit Satyr from being any more excited about Snakes on a Plane. In fact, the closer Aug. 18th got, the happier Satyr was getting. The night he sat in the movie theater, watching the greatest movie known to man, was going to be the greatest night ever. Gweg was happy about it too. The sooner the date had came and went, the better. Gweg was going to be happy when it was all behind him. But then there would be the DVD to worry about. The morni...

The week had been going so well for Gweg, but a phone call on Friday changed all of that. The Fair was in town and Satyr was spending his nights there. Despite Satyr trying his best to convince Gweg to go, Gweg stayed home those nights. It was in Gweg's best interest not to be seen in public with Satyr. For quite a while now, Gweg had been getting strange looks from people wherever he went, although he couldn't prove it, he knew it had something to do with Satyr. The first two nights of the f...

Gweg was alone in the apartment watching the news. Satyr had gone out to check on something, what it was, he would not tell Gweg. The news program had just brought a story about a missing blind girl when Satyr arrived home. Gweg: Yay, you're back. It's a shame about this missing blind girl. I wonder how she got lost. Satyr: They still haven't found her? Gweg: No. They are still searching....Wait a second, what do you mean "They still haven't found her"? This was a breaking news story that was...

There are those who think the apocalypse will occur on June 6th, 2006, or 06/06/06 if you will. Gweg, on the other hand, knew for a fact, that the apocalypse would not be happening then. It was going to happen on August 18th, 2006. The first signs of the impending doom came to Gweg a little over a year ago. Gweg had been watching Scientific American Frontiers, one of his favorite programs. Satyr was busy at the computer. Out of paranoid habit, Gweg would periodically glance over at Satyr, jus...

Gweg had just come home from the store. For some odd reason, the store wouldn't accept his credit card. Already having a bad day, he wasn't looking forward to spending the rest of it in the company of Virtual Satyr. When Gweg walked into their apartment, Satyr was on the phone. Satyr: Good. We'll be there in half an hour. Have two hundred kids waiting for me in the auditorium. Good-bye. Satyr hung up the phone and turned to Gweg. Satyr: Good, you're home. Well, saddle up partner, we got some ...

This is a great piece. A good poet knows how to paint their picture with words, and you have done a great job here.
This reminded me of Paranoid, A Chant by Stephen King. In a good way. And that means you wrote a dang good piece in my view.
