Not too bad, I'm interested to read some more. A few nigggles though - your descriptions are occasionally a bit too cursory. The crash-diving descent was gelled over so lightly it passed almost unnoticed. Even if the earth-man did 'magically' guide them down, there seems that there should be more to it! Also, would Daphne really be making sarcastic remarks as they were going down? Even if she had a pitch-black sense of humour, this sounds unlikely... And would a the future still have a music ...

This is very good - I'm impressed. It's pretty graphic, but well executed. It reminds me in places of the short story that bisects John Irving's The World Accordingto Garp (with a fantasy twist, of course). A few comments: You perhaps sketch the assailant a bit too sympathetically at first. Perhaps forebode things slightly, or have Catherine's first vision include him more directly. You take pains to describe the assailant, but tell us less about Catherine. If this is indeed the beginning of ...
