I am a junior, soon to be a senior, in high school. I love writing, but unfortunately school gets in the way because most of my work is meticulously written over a span of hours. I am trying to remedy this (if you have any tips, feel free to share them, haha).

I also sketch, play the violin, and do other such artsy things. I am rather picky when it comes to .. anything, so if I give you a ‘mean’ review, please don’t take it personally. I tend to speak what I think, nothing more, nothing less.

My other interests include social issues, global involvement, environmental science and technology, technology in general, transcendentalism, architecture, reading, being sarcastic, and bettering myself to better the world.

Out of several stays a few, but None so much like you whose pauses have said so much to me. Good night, good night, good night. It is way too soon for 'love', and yet my tongue knows nothing else. What word would say I rest in the thought of you, The autumn air running through your summer hair, And when we speak I close in the voice of you, A steady hand pulling me to sleep, Where only you, a dream, can wake me.              &n...

Journal, Diary, & Blogging / the price of grandmother's love
Version 1

It was a dreary, overcast morning, and I fervently wished my mother would stop telling me to bid my grandmother goodbye. My mother, father, siblings, and I had come to Sichuan for winter break, and this was the last glimpse I would have of her before we left China again. The best I could do was embrace her frail body tightly with a clumsy "zaijian" and turn away. I did not want to cry, and every time I looked into my grandmother's eyes the tears welled up in my own. Instead, I looked at her h...

our love is a not a fondling fire fit to fashion forte from frail, but two stoic fortresses interrupted as a glance does not glance off. our love is not a shallow wind to tremble the fall leaves. our love is not a ripple gliding 'cross an open range. we stand with hearts divided yet our parts stand not asunder. a second's time and soon our eyes collide to then collude. unbeknownst to ourselves our love's at best a fever set to storm through unarmed skin and throttle quietude within. conclusio...

three months three weeks three days today I have not seen my father but in the eyes of a stranger who does not look back. around me, men and women bathe in a clear sunset, once warm while fading from the heels of children. here, dust streets retire to untamed land, sanguine rays piercing— three men become contours cut by a ruthless sun. my lips closed; eyes open, drinking the thirst of man who in a wasteland gnarls like a twisted tree. an Adolph points his gun to me at this man who stands bet...

Technically, I can be labelled as existentialist or even slightly nihilist. There is no meaning in life, yet that is no excuse to refuse to live it. Our meaning to life is attached to us the moment we are born through the love of our parents. We live for other people, even if we are unique. Without others, there is no one to compare yourself to, and no one to love or hate. When we go, we live only in the memory of a few or many, depending on how famous you get to be, but in the end we all di...

I like the imagery you've used, but the last line is kind of confusing. Are you referring to the apples as children or simply bringing up children?
Quotes / Making love
Well put. Perhaps this is how the euphemism 'making love' actually came to be. I like the parallel meter structure of 'physical expression' and 'emotional connection.'
Quotes / Optimism
Aww. It's a good metaphor for optimism. You never know when the sun is going to rise. Better near than far. :)
