I am currently working full time as a Recruitment Consultant and have various hobbies that I am developing.
My work explores the combination of romance and sci fi/fantasy as i have to have a happy ending in my stories. It sounds cheesy I know but we all have our quirks. I hope to make all my characters a little different to the norm by adding an edge, making them an outkast or just on the point of no return. I’m weird in that in stories or films, I often want the bad guy to win (If he has a good cause). For example, in The Phantom of The Opera, even though the Phantom has killed, I couldnt help but want the herione to fall for him instead (I thought the other guy was pansy). Couldnt really relate to what this was about. Well constructed but lacks feeling for me
I cant give any constructive feedback other than to say that i thought it was good and i enjoyed it even if i didnt completely understand it. I wouldnt mind knowing more about the book.
To start off with a few small points, "very highly unusual", I would take very out and leave it as highly unusual. "An eye twitched, opened." Perhaps you should change this to a full stop after twitched? Ok in respect of being stuck i can entirely understand. My suggestion would be to continue the story and have an abstract lesson at the start of every chapter, kind of like a review where you go over what he has learnt. This breaks things down and you can fiddle with the order and put issues ...
