Past the point of no return. The final threshold! The bridge is crossed so stand and watch it burn. We’ve passed the point of no return.

Prologue: You have never heard a story like mine. Well, okay, you might have. But you have never heard it like this. Before I tell my story, there are three things I want you to know: My name is Carol Noel Anderson, I was born on Christmas, I have red hair and green eyes, and I hate that combination with all of my being. But anyway… Let’s rewind time back one year, to the beginning of my freshman year. It all started with a bucket of water… Chapter 1: Now most people wak...

Short Story / The Creek
Version 1

When I was in fourth grade, my friends Kalee and Tannen introduced me to a little stream that runs behind the Reed Park tennis courts. If you were to visit it now, you would see only shattered fragments of its former beauty. The Beautification of Freeport society, or maybe the park district—I’m not sure which—did a landscaping number on it, and much of its original splendor was lost. I fell in love with The Creek, as I called it then, almost immediately. It was a mag...

When attempting to come up with a good top ten for September, all I could think of were reasons not to do it…and excuses for not having it. So if you ever experience the syndrome of not doing homework (more commonly known as laziness), here’s a list of excuses. I hope it helps, and when in doubt, make up your own. 10. “My dog ate it.”—I had to force him, but he ate it. 9. “There was homework?”—I thought I was having a nightmare! 8. “I hav...

The subject that I hate the most Involves the lessons I have to host On multiplying and dividing On adding, subtracting and simplifying Sometimes I wish to be left out in the rain Or forgotten on a busy train But all the kids that handle me Never listen to my plea Some may write on my pages And some put me in their rodent cages Some will rip and tear me up Others spill something from their cup But never a page have they lost (Probably because of what it would cost) Oh why can’t I...

Journalism / Top Ten: Bored Games
Version 1

This month’s top ten is born of a party, boredom and pressing deadlines. So in the spirit of afore mentioned party and boredom, I chose to write about board games. So if you’re board—I mean bored—or are planning a game night, then here are ten board games that may, or may not, be interesting….or fun. 10. Monopoly—Four hours into the game, you still haven’t passed Go, the banker is mysteriously winning and all you want to do is attack the other...

Not bad, but there is very little connection to Obama.
Poetry / Dead End
It's a bit long, but thats okay. The beginning is a little confusing. The last half is good, its clear and it makes much more sense. This is very good, the description about the bipolar girl made a good ending. Some what scary, but good. Good job, keep it up.
Flash Fiction / The Machines
Oh this was really good. The whole thing with the power going out at the wrong time during a game, that is a total nightmare. The story is intense, and it wasn't till the end that I even realized it was just a game, not an actual event in the narrator's life. I don't have any criticisms for you, I think it's perfect as is.
Poetry / Untitled
Very good, I like it a lot. You need a title though, maybe something to do with the line "this friend who I call Dream."
Flash Fiction / Samaritan (version 3)
Wow. I really like this. The way you ended it with the guy saying he's not a nice guy makes me eager for more.
