I am just starting to write and would like some very honest criticism.I have some very strong opinions and I don’t mind if you disagree. I love to debate and will take most people up on that. More than anything I want to make a change in this world, so give me your honesty and I’ll give you mine. Thank you.

This has been a huge year for change. Thinking back to last fall when I moved down here I had no job, a piece of shit car, no money, no license, I was living with my dad and brother and waiting tables at a truck stop....typical life for a 22 year old, high school drop-out. I had just started talking to Jacob again in August, and he had been begging me to move to Indianapolis to live with him. Even though I had so little going for me, I was petrified of the idea of leaving it behind. So, I bit...

They are called the Millennials, Generation DotNet, Generation Y, and many other names. So who are they? Why are they different? What things have shaped them? There are many factors: the events experienced as a group, political involvement, beliefs about the world around them, and other general characteristics that will be discussed. Are the Millenials the slackers they are perceived to be, or are they the next revolution? The birth dates that define this generation is the span between 1978 a...

I just started a new job...and I have been in love with it from day one, that is until today. Today was the day I found out that the people in my group are lazy and are actually causing more work for myself and the others at our company. I process rebates for recalled items. Right now we are working on the recalled GE dishwashers. My group has to process them through the computer and approve them or deny them and send them to another department which mails letters to consumers telling them wh...

His eyes are green and laden with deep lines Unruly brows rest atop them his hair is long eternally pulled into a ponytail ever thinning and receding his beard is the color of pepper an even mix of white, black, and gray He is thin and short for a man such a frail stature for such a strong man And you can never see his smile But there are times when his eyes sparkle and shine surrounded by the ones he loves There are times when they're distant and lonely when he thinks of her There is a littl...

Dutiful, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials; these are the names which the last four generations of Americans have gone by. So what do they mean? What makes each generation different from the others? There are many factors including political involvement and beliefs, beliefs about marriage and family, outlook on the future, and generalized characteristics. All these things are based on social experiences, and technology. Advancement or pitfalls in either of these areas alter the future g...

Flash Fiction / Devour the Artist
The imagery in this piece was nice, like the rose growing out of the corpse, the first two parts overall. However, it was very confusing. I think you need some more description of the gold, green, and pink people. Maybe explain who they are...why are the green people different from the pink ones? Why is his wife so extraordinarily tall? Why is there a negative connotation to being an artist? I think if you explained more about how the people have evolved this would be a much more interesting ...
I liked the concept of your piece. People are generally too rude for my liking as well. I liked the first course of action. The cycle of teaching what you learn can be a bad thing if you learned the wrong thing to begin with. I do believe that your second course of action is too harsh and cold. There were parts of this that were humorous and overall I enjoyed it. As far as a journalistic voice, it doesn't show here. This is too personalized to be journalism, too opinionated. I hope this has h...
Thank you for writing this piece. I have experienced the first situation, I spent over 500 credits on a review that seemed to be about someone else's piece. At first I thought something had gone wrong too. Fortunately, I have never experienced the other examples you spoke of. Also, I liked the humor used at the end of the piece. I hope this piece helps others too.
I don't see this as being anti-existent. I see this more as a comparison of the sexes, throughout their lives. Especially from the 30s on. I think it shows how men stop being involved in things and become lethargic and in turn get older sooner and thus die earlier. If you are hoping for this to be an anti existence piece possibly show more of the negative aspects of people. Example: your typical suburban wife, takes the kids to school and athletic events and such all while hopped up on prozac...

I love love love the way that this was written. It is reminiscent of the of the end of a Stone Sour CD, or bits of SLC Punk. I am strangely attracted to that style of speech and writing. I love the grandiose use of the English vocabulary and the semi colons give it a wonderful flow. Good job and I hope to read more from you.
