I enjoy late-night conversations with crazy folk. I dislike mindless cowards who lack the valor to stand up for their beliefs and individuality. I’ve yet to meet the face of God.

Much of my world has been riddled by my own short-lived obsessions and waking illusions. I find it difficult to manage such an erratic and absurd life, but like an artist, I try to find pleasure in the smaller things. I wanted to say that since she’d left, the sky had moaned in sorrow, turned its head and...

The sun melts into the horizon, sinking like volcanic gold, burning against a heavenly smoke of clouds. Texas air in its fleeting summer is rich in color, and he can taste autumn’s very first breath lay vibrating on his tongue. The sirens come yelping, wailing. Deep in the sunrise, he sees a tremendous flash of red and blue. Galloping and striking, these colors light the sky as a ghastly vibration of police cars shakes the asphalt beneath him. Turning away from this spectacular moment, he loo...
