Nice slice of life in the day of Man and his best friend. I like how you convey attention and ease in the first stanza, "just because" energy in the second stanza, and tender relaxation and relationship in the last, with a hint of more activity to come. A lovely image of relationship! Again, you have a great way with rhythm and and flow.

This is very impressive! You express wisdom, thoughtful awareness and clarity. I enjoy the rhythm, it gets and holds my attention, and each stanza is a springboard to contemplation. It brings me to reflect on my experience of life in the shadow, its disappointments and the treasures that can be found there. That aspect I particularly appreciate; your piece invites the reader to reflect, recognize the operation of hope and being willing to see what can be found in shadow.

This makes me smile! I'm not much of a gambler, but the casino image generates that feeling I associate with casinos, trust, faith, fun, just letting go. The reference to jackpot and rainfall inspires thoughts of bounty and is a nice nod to Nature and vitality that rain can bring.

I like the rhythm of this flirtatious moment. Brings to mind quickening of the Heart. Simple and fun!
