You've really nailed on the head what every teenager thinks at least once in their week.
This is a really nice piece, filled with some spices of humor, mundane living, realistic marital fiction, and the age old fear of a rock falling out of the sky to crush our planet. I think this story has more than enough to make it publishable, and not only that, it is memorable. It is a far step from the cliche little stories about what happens in situations such as this and the story is full of little scenes that paint a nice picture of the world Kathleen lives in. I like the opening, and the narrative is really great. You really carve the feel. "to the famous actor Leonard Nimmoy who plays Spock in Startrek" Star Trek is 2 words, and I feel the sentence is a bit of a given. "last of a roll-up" Do you mean fruit roll up...that might paint a better image. I think the images flow together nicely although sometimes the prose is a bit too silly, if that is possible in comedic writing? Overall I liked it and the Spock character is likeable and developed.
