Truly, many people have called me harsh. I do not like to sugar coat things. It is just as bad as lying to you. If I reviewed a piece of yours and you feel I was mean, then you are not ready for publication. Writers (REAL writers) need to be able to keep their heads when someone rips them apart. You can disagree with me if you like. But if I review your piece, I will say what I think. I will type exactly what I mean and I will not lie to you. I’m not interested in hearing what you have to say about my critique. You only get one chance to make a first impression on me, and you may have already blown it-nothing you say will change my mind.
On the other hand you may not realize that I enjoyed your piece. I do not ramble on about how fantastic a piece was. I do not like it when people do that to my writings, I do not do it to others. If I like something I will tell you I liked it, but I will also point out improvements. Try not to take it personally, I just figure that we are all here to improve our writing, and people who ramble about how wonderful something is, really does not help anyone.

To Those who have reviewed my work: First off thank you. I appreciate you taking time to give your opinions. I take every review seriously. I appreciate every word you type.

THAT being said, I will say I am not afraid of the button on the page requesting refunds. While everyone likes to have their ego stroked I’m not spending my time and credits to have someone write a 20 word review saying “the piece was great! Don’t change a thing” It does not help me. So if you get mad that I asked for a refund, maybe you should think about putting a few constructive things into your future reviews. If I want praise I will ask my mother to read the piece.

If you are still reading this, congrats. You deserve a medal. Sadly, I ran out last year and can no longer hand them out. I am truly sorry if you were searching for personal information, something to explain why someone is so cold and cruel. Sorry….I save personal stuff for friends.
