Every time someone new walked through the doors of my ever-shrinking Catholic grammar school they immediately received a strange mystique. It was not quite a stigma, but what was bestowed upon them I can best describe as a mystique. All of our respective roles were already determined in the classroom, thanks to our 20 person class being together since the fourth grade. These roles had become old hat. Someone new, now, they had to find their own place in our little social structure and we were...

Americans have a hard time understanding the cultural politics of my home state, Connecticut. Furthermore, it is far too confusing for non-Yankees to come to an understanding of it simply through conversation. Let us get the easy part out of the way: Connecticut barely even qualifies as a state. Connecticut is barely a state in the same way that the rest of New England is Massachusetts' Canada. The states of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine are all such non-states that they should all be con...

At some point she had worked my pants down around my ankles and as she pushed me backwards onto the bed I was once posted up against and went down on me. I froze for about 30 seconds before I picked her up – I did it quickly so I couldn't tell you how – and threw her down so she was face up on the bed. I moved my hand down to her crotch and with a terrible and loud ripping noise I tore her underwear clean off her hips. I stuffed two fingers into her. She twitched and whimpered. That didn't la...

Love the steampunk theme. That should really be used more in stories, movies, graphic novels, or whatever. You could stand to write longer paragraphs and use a little more description. Also, I want to see what else you come up with. Write more...
Interesting story. You bring up some very good points and ask some interesting questions. This is one of the first things on this site I really, truly enjoyed reading. The one thing I saw that needs to be changed is the paragraph when your character starts out "My point is..." and when he goes to talk about Bond and the difference between "literary" writers and "genre" writers. While you can infer which parts the character is making hand motions and which parts he is talking, you need to fix ...
Well done. I like the form of it especially. Furthermore, the idea of a contract can mean a lot of things and is applicable to many different situations. I'd very much like to know exactly what experience prompted the writing of this poem. The only problem I have with the piece is the "Disclosed" stanza. The lines were much shorter in that part and the way it was written doesn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the poem.
I feel like the part about the website moderator part doesn't really fit in, although it is a big part of your (very true) experience. It seems like the whole thing is an overview of what you see around you, and those two paragraphs are very specific. There may be better ways to give proof to your observations. I would explore those. In my opinion, your piece is 100% true, and I see the same things you see in modern American society. Furthermore, you present it in a very clear manner that's e...
