Poetry / You Ain't Been Black Since the 1960's

You ain’t been black since the 1960’s
when negroes were born with the curse of darkness
that traveled with them
taking them prisoners
locking them up before they were even born
taking hope
because hope ran away when it saw your midnight color
knowing it would be hopeless.

The last time you were black
negroes’ feet baked on concrete
making you enter fom the front
no longer from the side
drinking from the fountain for humankind
allowing you to recapture your mind that was taken away at birth
unearthing yourself
rebirth.

Now you have arrived
at least in your mind
accepeted by snowflakes
allowed to eat from the same plate
numerous degrees
can’t stand your kind
who died for you long before you were born
now you are clothed with scorn.

I’m not really clear on your message, and I think that some that read this and don’t understand may be offended. Your tone works well with me, I just wish the message was a lot clearer.
