clever! – 1st part is tautological; 2nd part is personification (metaphoric.) is this an original? good brain-teaser.

I would reword it to a simpiler form that more people could understand.
“Metaphor changes; repetition looks in the mirror.”
Fine, but why couple these two concepts?
Great quote. Thanks to you, dictionary.com has doubled the number of hits it gets every day. :) But I think that’s great. Once I knew what “transmutes” and “tautology” meant, this quote made so much sense, so I love it! Thanks for sharing!
Hmmmm…Interesting theory…I’m not certain that tautology fits exactly…the use of the word transmutes is great…
A mirror imitates or mimics, does it necessarily repeat itself redundantly like your tautology surmises? Is this critique ‘adequate enough’ (tautology) to meet the criteria?
I believe I understand what you are going for here, but I am curious if my assumption is correct. Please correct me if I’m wrong, connecting metaphors into morphing/evolving seems logical. The question I have is when we compare tautology which is a form of rhetoric with a mirror image or reflection doesn’t necessarily make a good analogy. The use of the word “mirror” could mean it’s simply a reflection (A is A, B is B) or is it a mirror-image/opposite, which would be positive is now negative. If that’s the case, I’m not sure that I full understand the analogy in of itself. Clarity is always the key to shorter quotes, and this one as it stands needs a bit more.
