Journal, Diary, & Blogging / Death (Analysis)
Death.
It is something that we are faced with everyday. Whether it been the death of another human or whether it be the death of an innocent flower. It is something that we are all familiar with. We are confronted by death everyday. But we never seem to expect that it will happen to us and the people we love. I guess for some reason we forget that death happens to everyone. Not just people we don’t know.
Yet no one is ever comfortable with it. Once we reach middle age everyone starts to panic about having a heart attack or stroke and suddenly decides its time to get fit and look after themselves. Why are we so uncomftable with the idea of dying? I know for a fact I am. Death is my biggest fear. Most people fear spiders or heights. But I’m scared of death. And why? I mean as far as we all know once we die that’s it. Nothing else. just nothing. it’s all over. The fat lady has sung. But… is that all there really is too it? Maybe that is what scares me so much. The fear of the unknown. Not knowing if I will be reincarnated (and if so what as?) if ill go to heaven (that’s if I’ve been good enough too go there) or if I will just lie in the ground and rot. And slowly be forgotten about by all the people who once cared. The thought that one day the flowers would just stop coming. And all you will become is another tombstone amongst many in an uncared for graveyard. Even worse is the thought of losing all the people that are close too me. Without my friends and family I would have nothing and the thought of losing them is sometimes too much to take.
But would it be any easier if we knew the date and the way it would all come to a dramatic end? If we knew would we be able to change fate to prevent it and be able to cherish those extra few moments we never had? Or would we always just live our life to the full and spend each day doing things that make us happy and telling the people who truly matter “your perfect in everyway and I love you”.
Sometimes it makes you think that we are born to die. I mean those are the only two certainties we have in our lives. We were born and one day we will die. You can never be sure of the circumstances of either but you know they will happen.
Death it is something we are faced with everyday, but is there no way we can prevent it?
