Poetry / Unseen
In the darkness
it lingers
lurking
an unseen danger
You can’t see it
Hidden well beneath the surface
In the shadows
does it hide
waiting to jump out
“Surprise”
Anger drifting in and out
of my white cottage house
In the daylight
you still won’t find
the anger
he has inside
So calm and serene
Tidy and clean
In the past
my mom once said
“It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for”
repeats in my head
I should have listened instead
In the moonlight
sometimes it creeps
when it seems like its asleep
Hidden in the darkness
Goes away for a while and seems a stranger
Hidden in the shadows
is unseen danger
