Poetry / Better This way
It feels better this way.
I certainly feel better today.
We let go of something inside.
Suddenly, didn’t the world come alive?
You can look into eyes with purpose and poise;
see what’s beneath all the tears and the noise.
I can still smell you in my hair, on my skin,
everywhere you and images spin.
I’m not afraid of what might be,
what is, is not or what could happen, you see.
I’m not too worried about what you will think,
for if we are linked, there will be no kink.
I can’t wonder anymore without your face creeping in
somehow, this fate, our time plays within.
My mind takes our life for a spin and it plays
the moments of joy. Of creation. Good days.
The life that we built, the places we see…
How every day flows so effortlessly.
How long we both waited for something like this?
Now, tangled and mixed up and crazy with bliss.
I see it. Inside. Just past the center; disturbed.
So deep, so sacred, maybe never unearthed.
Miraculously though our two paths have crossed
and the fear of what’s possible has finally been lost.
I know this because I am quiet and listen
to what my heart tells me; it’s thoughtful position.
Nestled between our future and past
lies the place I will wait, until together at last.
Coupled in silence and knowing profound…
Alone, these two travelers spiritually bound.
How long will it last? Forever it will seem;
As long as Love fills our sails with it’s steam.
