Poetry / Forget the Truth (Analysis)
horrid words spill
from bitter lips
stab at the heart and
bring out the whips
pungent smells burn
a stuck up nose
swing open the doors and
file out in rows
revolting sights pry
into biased eyes
ignore the sounds and
block out the cries
hidden screams swarm
inside closed ears
rolling in gold
dining off fears
empty thoughts race
inside a broken mind
looking for clocks
searching for time

it sounds like this poem is trying to deal with some heavy personal events &/or issues, but the way it’s executed somehow trivializes everything.
it is possible to be “poetic” without being hopelessly vague. & it may be “a little complicated to understand”, but if you’re not making an effort to be understood, what’s the point of a.)writing it & b.)posting it for critique?
