Non-fiction / a funny thing about waiting

i know i said i am impatient and i am. but sometimes, things just have a way of surprising you. even waiting. and i know i said that the thing that would come from waiting better be great. well, today, i just found out that it is. it’s more than great, actually, it’s awesome and wonderful. ‘coz i learned that though in life we are oft deprived of the things we want or are made to wait before it is given, sometimes life just hands great things out to you simply because you decided to wait. i mean, i didn’t even have to wait all that long. it just came, out of nowhere, all of a sudden. and then, just like that, i am happy.

and these things, sometimes they come in places or forms that you least expect. and they almost always surprise you. like, at a point when you’ve convinced yourself that it’s never gonna happen and it’s a shot in the dark and it’s highly unlikely…it just…happens. just like that. and you never even saw it coming.

but in cases such as mine, when the surprise is really great, there’s no room to question or complain. you just get filled with this light feeling, kind of like you’re floating and shaking, in a good way, and then you just enjoy it. and that is exactly what i did. who would have thought a simple word or thought or idea or discovery could make one feel so lighthearted and happy? or a simple gesture or act or chance of fate could lift spirits up so high it escapes sight? i don’t know…maybe not always getting what you want, or being made to wait for so long or so much kind of humbled me and enabled me to appreciate the simple things more than i used to. i guess now it takes so little to brighten my day or make me smile or laugh. but i’d like to believe that the simple things are the ones that really do matter. and they, in their own way, create this welcome impact. i like to think that these simple things just have their way of creating waves far greater than themselves. and enabling us to find light in our days.

these simple things, simple everyday things, that help us get through the day or week or our lives are things we couldn’t live without. and getting a very unexpected surprise from one really made my day. or possibly week.hehe and yes, this serves as a way to vent and express emotion. but this time, it’s also to let you know that you made a difference and you made me smile. thanks…it was well worth the wait…:D

p.s. don’t get me wrong. i am still not a huge fan of waiting. but suddenly, at least for this week, it ain’t so bad. what can i say, sometimes, things have a way of surprising you…like this one just did.;)

This is positive writing. Waiting requires patience, and this is good because life is not a race.

OK, this is all well and good, but what was the surprise? If the point of this text is to tease the reader by having him wait and wait and wait throughout the text for you to tell him what you were waiting for and what the surpise was that made you happy, then OK. If not, could you tell the reader what it was? Did I miss something?
