Poetry / modernism (Analysis)
I sit in semi-slumber
waiting for an excuse to go to bed.
or am I waiting for one to stay awake?
my eyes are shutting, yet still, I linger in front of the LCD screen, fingers typing words across a fake page.
what is real about this?
I can’t grip the pen between my fingers,
the slightly rough feel of ink gliding onto paper is missing.
the words are not formed out of connecting loops and dashes, but appear instead, as if by magic.
the conjuring of a spell.
abracadabra.
there you have it.

I like this. It flows well and says a lot about today’s society.

great poem, liked how it portrayed everything switching over to an electronic media. How all the electric hum of noise almost lulls us to sleep, great poem
I love the concept. You have made an excellent ,yet simple, portrayel of those late nights staring at the computer screen.
This is a good poem. I can see what you mean by the semi-rough feel of ink gliding onto paper. Well done!
