Poetry / Running (Analysis)
Push forward, don’t stop. His feet were eager to move but his thighs were tired from exhaustion. Got to keep going. Got to keep moving. His running stance was beginning to wobble and the finish line never felt so far. Can’t give up. Not now. He trips. For that one second, which felt like an enternity of failure, he braced himself for the impact. Pieces of gravel from the road were embedded in his face as his chest was torn so hard it felt as if the road was trying to scrape out his heart.
What now? He laid there contemplating on what to do now. There was no telling how long he was actually on the ground. He closed his eyes, his muscles let loose, he felt broken. And again, he braced himself.
With such magnificent strength, he pushed against the road. It was not him that was moving up but the earth that was moving down. He was in control. Push foward, don’t stop. Struggling at first, he began at a walk, then eased into a jog. After gathering himself he broke into a full blown run. The scenery was blurred but the wind never felt so good. He couldn’t see the finish line but knew he was doing what was right and that’s all that mattered to him. Got to keep going. Got to keep moving.

i read this as an extract from a novel, mainly because of the way its laid out
Well I love the ides of the bold being the character thinking, however it doesn’t seem much like poetry to me. Possibly song lyrics or a beginning to a short story.
