Poetry / Puppy Love
In all my days, and few there are,
I’ve never met anyone as beautiful as thee.
Even though I said this to my last beloved, by far
I dearly mean it when I say, “you’re meant for me.”
For my last lady of love, how I dread her so,
Left me for a much burlier man.
She wanted much more, or so I was told
And not walked from me, but ran.
I admit I was torn from life and love,
I knew not what to do.
Then you came down from up above
And the new love of my life became you.
But after a few weeks you became a bore
And it was me, not you, who changed.
To be honest, you interest me no more
So don’t get hurt when you see my love range.
I found new mistress who is my true soul mate
And she makes me feel thankful as thankful can be.
She may be the one love I could never hate
And I dearly mean it when I say, “she’s meant for me.”
