Lyrics / YOUR NAME
YOUR NAME
***
I’ll remember the way that I met you,
How easy the right words just came;
You can bet I won’t forget you…
But, I won’t remember your name…
It’s funny how, sometimes, a stranger
Comprehends as ones friends never could;
You say what you feel without danger
If your motives are misunderstood…
I’ll remember what it was to love you,
You sharing yourself without shame;
I’ll remember the view from above you…
But, I won’t remember your name…
It’s too bad the one you belong to
Can’t see all the good that he’s got,
For it’s him that I’m singing this song to
And if he thinks I’m joking, I’m not!
I’ll remember your number, so to dial it sometimes,
When he answers Wrong number”, I’ll claim;
If a message I leave, I will style it in rhymes
So I won’t endanger your name…
Temptation is strong just to steel you,
To the whole world our love proclaim;
But don’t worry, I won’t reveal you…
For I’d never spoil your good name…

It’s amazing how one’s words can be so readily identifiable by someone else. I can identify with these lyrics very well. Music is one of my great passions and the lyrics can make or break the song. Don’t get me wrong, I love the musicians part of songs as well, but without great lyrics, it’s hard to get into. That said, i think that your composition is very good. The only thing that I might suggest is a chorus. I don’t see that there is one and maybe that is just me and I’m missing your intention as far as that goes. If that is the case, please forgive me. All in all, it is good.

You know this does say so much about how you feel. At least that is how I interpret it. It kind of sounds like baggage, but isn’t baggage a good thing? I would like it to be more edgy if I was to sing it, but alone it is well written.
