Lyrics / Who’s Going to Love a Drifting Heart. (Analysis)
Who’s Going to Love a Drifting Heart.
G C G
When I was young and I use to wonder,
G D G
Who’s going to love a drifting heart?
G C G
When I grew up and I was a rambler,
G D G
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
Down many roads, across mighty oceans,
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
Find me a girl who’ll show that devotion.
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
CHOURUS:
C G
Maybe I’ll find me a gypsy lady,
G D G
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
C G
Someone somewere’s got to be that crazy,
G D G
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
I meet a girl who lived on the highway,
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
She went hers and I went my way,
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
Hoping one day again I may find her,
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
When the shackles of freedom no longer bind her,
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
CHORUS:
Maybe I’ll find my gypsy lady,
Who’s going to love a drifting heart.
She’s wild as the wind and she kinder crazy,
Oh how I love her drifting heart.
Oh how I love her drifting heart.

I like the time and effort you’ve put into this, it really shows in the tone of this piece. ’kinder crazy’? as in ‘kinda crazy’?
The wonderful side of this piece is it will appeal to those who enjoy being untethered by place, face, or finance. That alone makes this a really good piece because it has a unique audience it will resonate the most with, and yet is still broad enough to apply to people in certain stages of life, too.
I would caution you on one thing, though. Don’t use the title any more in the song than you have to, otherwise it can make the listener/reader feel like you ran out of steam or inspiration. Half of this song is literally the line ‘Who’s going to love a drifting heart?’. Use it just enough to be a strong theme, but modify parts of it so if you repeat it a lot, you repeat it in new ways. The changes can be small ‘Who’s going to want a drifting heart?’ ’Who’s not going to leave a drifting heart?’ Etc.
Overall, I like this quite a bit. Nicely done, I hope to see it again.

HEy!
good work. i liked it even though i don’t know the reference you give on the comments for reviewer..
Perhaps i t would be even better to hear it with a melody, but i think it would make a nice little love song..
I didn’t like the repetiveness of whose going to love a drifting heart and you had a few grammarical errors, but if you fixed them would help alto in the interpetation of the song.
I do like it although I think it would be nice to hear it aloud. Just to see how well it really flows together. The verse she is wild as the wind and she kinder crazy I am not sure if that is the way you wanted it but it does not jive well with the rest. Other than that I like it.
