Poetry / When All The Branches Fell
When All The Branches Fell
BY: JPW
We swear we found answers,
Though none were really found.
So bold to believe you have figured this out.
My head is on fire.
My legs are stuck in sand.
As tiny broken records played atop my bloody hands.
Salty water stings the cuts.
My Eyes swayed clockwise and back.
With every new splash, breaking me down,
The Pain, always second to the amplified sound.
Nothing so great is worth all this trouble.
Lets all just walk hand in hand.
So many tell tales.
All mostly the same,
Except in different buildings,
With different names.
Different branches of one idea.
Which alone sounds foolish indeed.
Branching out!
Branching out!
You know this is not what we need!
With every new branch,
You distance yourself from the first.
All I need is one small drink,
To quench this annoying thirst.
Lets think and plan together!
Lets journey farther and farther!
Don’t laugh when I tell you,
That if we try,
We all can walk on water.
