Crime, Thrillers & Mystery / The chapter of Lady Die
This is a true and very sad story about a famous author, Karin Struck. A story with mysterious
nasty magic. Karin was a very important friend for me. I met her in a catholic church, in St. Pankratius, Gütersloh, Germany, where I am living. She appeared suddenly in my life after a terrible accident and converted the same time to the catholic faith. I looked up to her, she was so intelligent and a great author but I felt that something was wrong. I felt right. She went to Munich with great plans for new books. She became a great fighter against abortion. But she didn’t find a publishing house for her books. It was impossible. Karin felt very mortified. With 50 she began a training for household, worked very hard. Her financial situation became a disaster. Karin died before I had a chance to bring her back on the way. My book is for her because she was the one who said to me that every writer has his story inside and must write it alone. Here is a chapter of my book.
The last letter of Karin:
“Dear Renate, I was appalled by your letter. You must feel so bad. I feel for you and will pray for you. Please don’t speak about God and Jesus that way, please. I am ill, have cancer, I know it since 12-9-2002. Now I have to be strong and to accept the illness. I will hardly believe in cure. I don’t believe in school medicine. Dear Renate, try to get help and don’t go to the sects. I beseech you! You are important for me and I wish that you also will come through this crisis. Please, take a rest and do the good which you need for yourself. You have been so long alone, I saw it. I hug you tightly and think of you. Kind greetings your Karin”
September first, 1998.
“Thank you. Thank you very much. It was a pleasure to read here and that you have liked it. Karin was happy. She smiled. Her reading was successful and the audience, women from the Roman Catholic woman community of St. Pankratius Kirche, applaused for a long time. The listeners enjoyed Karin’s readings from “childhood end”, “journal of a crisis”, “man faithful” and “cold liberty”. „You have touched our souls, we still could listen to you for hours ”, I said and presented a bouquet of flowers to her. Only a small group remained to the following discussion. „Human rights, justice”, shouted Ulrike and got angry. „For many people law is only comfort” , so the religious Roman Catholic. „Yes, many people don’t listen to their inner voice ”, agreed Elisabeth and I looked surprised. What did she say? She can hear a voice? I became exciting. Time to speak about it. Nobody does it really. Why not? All priests too. They were talking about the living bible but nobody came straight to the point. What was the reason? I never believed in boring stories of the bible but I became interested when someone talked to me really. A secret voice. He said to me that he is my father. He was trying to make me believe with wonders and spectacular happenings that the catholic faith is the truth. I said that we need a new book to make people believe and that I wanted to help him. He answered o.k. Write a new book about me and the ten true commandments. I answered how? I am no writer, only a secretary. Writers are special. I am not able to write a book. The answer was: “There is no problem. I will send you help. Soon. You will see!!” I was so excited. A few weeks later it happened. Karin Struck came as a guest in my women-church-group. A new inhabitant of our town and a famous author. A very famous author. I stared at her. She looked beautiful with her long red hair and I hang on her lips. What a person. How intelligent she was. She crashed into my life like a wonder. This was no coincidence. It was so noticeable that I became a great believer in the catholic religion. A great believer with the hope to understand one day what other people seemed to have a clue of. I had no courage to tell Karin my feelings at once. She had an accident. Why? She told me that she was on the way from Hamburg to the University of Bielefeld. There she found a job. The accident happened in Gütersloh and she had to stay some weeks in the hospital. Her private life crashed together. Because of her injury she decided to rent a house in Gütersloh until she was o.k.again. Hmm. I am a reporter. Something was not o.k. I could feel it. I didn’t want to shock Karin. I wanted to wait for the right moment.
I drove Karin home. I felt that she was a special person in my life. Her sudden conversion to the Roman Catholic faith impressed me very much but it I couldn’t understand. „What was the reason that you appeared in this small town ”, I asked carefully. „Actually this wasn’t my dream “ Karin answered. “ I had this bad accident with my son and so I had to search for a home in Gütersloh. And when I saw the St. Pankratius church I knew suddenly that this is my destiny I was looking for all my life. God showed me the right way. His signs are so clearly.” I said nothing. Sign? Something was bad here. But what? I knew this at once, didn’t get any answer. Perhaps journalists are more distrustful than writers. This God can punish, can do what he wants. Is this right? And every human who has signed a certificate of baptism is a member of him forever? „We must turn right ”, said Karin suddenly and pushed me from my thoughts. „Have you already thought about a new topic for your next woman evening?” I took a deeply deep breath. „How about writing a book about God?” I asked. Now I wanted to say all. „My dear Renate ”, Karin laughed and pointed on a white house on the right side of the street. „There are thousands of books about God anyway. Go to the library. You will see.” I felt that Karin was tired and wanted to go to bed. I drove home and thought all the time to my “order” to write a book about God. Karin was highly intelligent and very well-read. She suddenly turned her seeing of life like a dirty shirt. Why? Only because she heard an inner voice? Saw signs of God? What happens if this “wonders” are only black magic to bring people on their knees? How could Karin be sure? There is no sign of a right leadership. No feelings of a father. The priests speak highly of the teachings of Jesus but nobody use this rules??? Where are the eyes of the people? With a God who may use torture and murder there will never be peace on earth. The prophet. Poor devil. Holy books written from a writer who could hear voices. Wow. Was Karin afraid? . Of course. She is afraid. She is afraid, doesn’t want that he hurt her and her children again. The accident was a sign. „Oh no”, I cried . „You cannot frighten me. “ I decided to stop my working at church. . I met Karin again at our women-meeting. It was only a comfortable get-together, no particular program. So the women had opportunity to get to know better and to talk about private things. „You have actually contact to the great media concern Bertelsmann here?” Karin asked. „I answered, yes, of course ”. „I have worked for the chief” I said and Karin looked at me gladly. „Could you help me to publish my next book? I couldn’t find a publishing house for a long time”, she asked. „I will find out a chance” I answered and was thinking about my boss from the past, Dr. Wössner. He was the answer. He was the most intelligent and most influential man I had ever met. I was sure that he would hear seriously my problems. A new book for God. This man could help me. A new bestseller……. .At this time I had no clue what plan managers are working for of that famous publishing house. The world best magician of the world suddenly touched my heart. He opened my eyes and I started to see a new version of my life. The best story of our life! To all readers: give it up to top this. It is not impossible. No, I do not want to read more.
Sorry. This is very choppy, disconnected and doesn’t flow well. I’m left knowing almost nothing about any of the characters, except that I think they belong to a fundamentalist Catholic sect.
And, incidentially, the FBI would have no influence in Germany. By charter or law or whatever, they technically investigate within the UDA, and the CIA would go outside the USA.

If this is the story line, this is way confusing.
“He switches himself into the line frequency of the secretary and warned her.” – this line makes no sense to me at all, I can understand that he warns the secretary, but switches himself into the line frequency of what?
“The horror managers don’t find this funny at all and the story starts to get thrilling….the FBI attacked his warehouse and started to ruin the magician….” – okay, it needs to get funny or thrilling or something!
I’m sure the story will develop and be interesting, but to get us interested you need a better intro, this is just a little confusing.
